Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Patrick Green, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18), embraces his wife before he embarks the ship for a scheduled deployment as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group. Makin Island is the Navy’s newest amphibious assault ship and the only U.S. Navy ship with a hybrid-electric propulsion system.
